Hey Bob, great setups, the FZ50 is a joy to drive now that I can actually keep it pointed the right direction. I did have one comment. Your FXO Turbo setup feels very loose and nervous to me, I can barely keep it going the right direction under braking, I've even lost the tail in full throttle sweepers, it's very weird. I know it's not the car, because the FXO setup I normally use it 100% rock solid and very nailed down feeling, by contrast, that setup makes the FXO harder to drive than the XR Turbo for me. I dunno, maybe I'm weird, all the other setups are awesome
First off, I'd suggest using Bob Smith's easy race setups, they can be found here http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=279
It can be tough to learn to catch slides. I don't really know what car you're talking about, but especially in race cars, like the FZ50 GTR and the XR GTR, slides can be very tough to catch because the slicks break away so quickly. With practice, you'll be able to slide the tires and tell when they're about to regain grip again, just keep working at it
I actually think Tristian makes more meaningful posts than the vast majority of members here, he just makes a lot of them If you want to see spam, go to the Di.fm forums LOL, people with 20,000+ posts, posting 5 times in one thread saying "choooooooooooooooooooooon!!!!" LOL
Isn't that Marvin from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? As a sidenote, doesn't Marvin have red eyes? I'm pretty sure that's what it says in the book...
Chinese Crested Dogs are actually pretty cute, IMO. That was a rescue dog that had some serious health issues, my compliments to the owner for even taking him in, he could have easily been euthanized right at the shelter.
Here's what a "normal" Chinese Crested looks like, for anyone interested (They're born hairless, btw, that's not a clip.)
Something's screwy with that chart. I don't really think that almost have of the Finnish population has LFS either. I don't really get what that chart is trying to say.
Welcome to LFS. And yes, you will become addicted, and if you try to stop, you will go through withdrawl. (I know this firsthand, I can't play LFS on my laptop in college it really sucks.) But again, welcome, I'm sure you'll have fun
This actually looks more like a bug than anything, I have the exact same LOD settings as you, and I never EVER see square wheels, it's odd that you see them that close up, I think my old machine did that, but that was a 1 GHz P3 with a 32mb video card. Strange indeed
Don't get discouraged, you'll get better. For kb drifting, that wasn't too bad, it's hard to get big smooth lines with digital controls, keep working at it
I'm actually confused about this whole issue. I seem to remember a thread a while ago about people getting banned from his server because they were on teams or something? And what's the whole stats deal? A quick refresher would be nice.
It is simulated as to what part of the circumfrence of the tire is dirty, you can check this by getting your tires dirty and then locking them up on pavement, the part that locked up will be scrubbed clean, while the rest of the tire is dirty. I'm not sure if it simulates whether it's the outer, middle, or inner part of the tire though. That would be pretty cool though
